It’s been 44 years since I left the Army; on May 29, 2017 I marched in my first Memorial Day parade. I got home from Vietnam in August 1972, was stationed at the Chaplains School at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn and was discharged on June 25, 1973. May 20, 2017: So my book tour for “Heroes to the End” has come to an end. I wound up selling 428 books and will have donated $11,859 to United Veterans Beacon House by the time my last two checks from libraries arrive. It has been a rewarding and yet frustrating 19 months. Rewarding in that I was able to spread my message about the tail end of the war at almost 100 stops: that U.S. troops were doing good…..
