Sept. 21 Artemis Joukowsky’s next film project will involve accompanying Great Neck couple Latifa and Colin Woodhouse to Greece this fall on their third trip to work with refugees, most displaced by the war in Syria. Joukowsky made the announcement Sept. 20 at the premiere of “Defying the Nazis: The Sharps’ War,” a documentary on which he collaborated with Ken Burns. Sept. 14 I renewed my website for another year through my publisher iUniverse of Bloomington, Ind. Sept. 12: I was pleased to represent United Veterans Beacon House today at the Michael M. McCarthy Foundation annual golf tournament at Nissequogue Golf Club in St. James. It was a beautiful day, and more than 100 players tested the 6,643-yard par-72 layout on western Suffolk’s North Shore. The foundation was nice enough to allow Beacon House to share proceeds from the event with our good friends at the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. Participants played 18 holes, had…..
